Terms of Use

These terms cover your use of Firstory and its tools. By using the site or creating an account, you agree to them.

What the service is

Firstory helps families in Saudi Arabia prepare for a newborn: The Name Journey for choosing a meaningful name, the Newborn Welcome List for organising what you need and sharing it with family, and the Memory Box for keeping the first days. The Memory Box is still in design, and registering interest means exactly that — no payment and no commitment.

Eligibility and your account

Accounts are for adult parents or guardians. You are responsible for the accuracy of your account details and for keeping your password private. If you grant a co-parent access or publish a share link, that is your decision and you can stop it at any time. Tell us immediately if you notice unauthorised use of your account.

The content you write

The names, memories, item titles and messages you write remain yours, and you are responsible for their accuracy and for your right to publish them. You give us a limited permission to store and display them inside the service and on the links you choose to share, only as far as running what you asked for requires.

Information and suggestions

Name meanings, search results and suggestions — including ones generated with AI assistance — are references to help you decide. They are not religious rulings, legal advice or medical advice. Verify what matters to you, and tell us about any mistake so we can correct it.

Gift links and buying outside Firstory

Firstory does not sell gifts, does not collect any money, and does not process payments. Links and prices shown belong to external stores and can change or expire without notice to us. Any purchase or transfer happens between you and the store or guest, and that store's terms, returns and warranty policies apply.

Guests and sharing

When you share a list link or a public shortlist, anyone with the link can open it. A guest confirming they will bring a gift is a coordination signal between you and them to avoid duplicates — not a commitment we guarantee or enforce. You can stop publishing at any time from your list settings.

Community contributions

Parent experiences, nicknames and suggestions you submit are reviewed before they appear, and we may decline, remove or edit any contribution that doesn't fit the service. Don't submit information that identifies another person without their permission.

Acceptable use

Don't use the service for abusive content or content that breaks Saudi regulations, don't impersonate anyone, don't send promotional or harmful content, don't try to reach accounts or data that aren't yours, and don't scrape the site or place unusual load on it.

Intellectual property

The Firstory name, logo, site design and copy, the name library and the blog content belong to Firstory or are licensed to it. You may use them personally inside the service; copying or republishing them commercially requires our written permission.

Availability and changes

We keep developing the service, so we may add, change or retire a feature, and the site may be down for maintenance or a technical fault. Where a change affects your data or something you published, we tell you in advance as far as we can. These terms may also be updated: every meaningful update gets a new version and date, and we ask for your agreement when needed.

Limits of our responsibility

We provide the service in good faith and as it actually is, without a promise that it is error-free or never interrupted. We are not responsible for purchase decisions, store transactions, or the actions of guests or co-parents you gave access to, nor for indirect losses. None of this affects any right you have that applicable law does not allow us to exclude.

Suspending or ending an account

You can request deletion of your account at any time from the privacy and data page. We may suspend or end an account for a clear breach of these terms or for use that harms other people or the service, and we try to warn you first unless the harm is immediate.

Law and jurisdiction

These terms follow the regulations in force in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, and any dispute is heard by the competent authorities there. We would rather solve any problem by talking to you first.
